Here is the deal...this is going to be out "Christmas Party" but this year we have the theme of Christmas is forGIVING....you can take that in a lot of ways, how we are taking it is like this...We are throwing a Boxing party...instead of bringing white elephant gifts or snacks and stuff...we will bring items to box up and give to Foster Families and Children in need in the Mid Missouri area through the organization called The Hope Chest www.hopechestforkids.com
This event is focused on "building relationships with your neighbors and friends (churched, un-churched or de-churched)" through a community-centered service project...
How do you get started?
Invite friends and neighbors, the ones you would want at a Christmas party, and bring items such as: diapers, household products, TP, paper towels, blankets, zip lock bags, brushes, combs, shampoo, soap, deo for the BO, toothbrush, tooth paste, pre-packaged soups, granola bars, kid sized scarves/gloves/hats/underwear, hand held games, card games, travel games, toys in general....LOOK OUT ...BONKERS gift cards...oh ya baby!
We will BOX them up at the party and then share them to bless kids who have 2 strikes against them already, #1 parents who don't or can't love them at this time, #2 not being at home at Christmas time...let's stop strike #3 by making sure we share some of Christ generosity and have a package waiting for them under the tree...
